Read more »Merq’s always known there’s only one way Armise and he can end.
The Opposition is losing—both the war and the fight for citizen support—and the Revolution’s victory appears certain. Despite that success, Merq knows his leaders won’t let two of their greatest assets simply walk away. But with Armise fighting for his life, getting out becomes Merq’s primary objective.
Almost two decades of selfishness can’t be alleviated with one right decision, and Merq is faced with the reality of how deeply he has wounded Armise in ways that cannot be seen from the outside. Merq’s world has been upended more times than he can count and he’s always survived, but life without Armise is no longer an option. He just has to prove that to Armise.
Merq believes there are few who are strong enough to challenge them when they stand together. But when the secret Armise has been protecting Merq from is revealed, the truth has consequences neither of them can prepare for.
Reader Advisory: This book contains graphic violence, mention of torture and genetic experimentation.

Pen & Drink Monthy Report with S.A. McAuley and SJD Peterson on Page to Screen. Includes Giveaway.
Page to Screen
Sam: Confession time. I’ve never read the Harry Potter series, I’ve only seen the movies. Same goes with Lord of the Rings and I adored those movies! But those are the exceptions. I usually read a book before I see it on the screen.
Jo: I usually see the movie first. Because nine out of ten times I’m going to be disappointed with the movie if I read the book first. That totally happened after reading Pet Sematary by Stephen King. The book scared the bejesus out of me, the movie…not so much.
Sam: Book to movie adaptations are tough. It’s two completely different mediums. I think the only adaptation I really adore is Gone With the Wind. I can’t count the number of times I’ve seen that movie AND read the book.
Jo: My turn for a confession… I adore Gone With the Wind. I’ve seen it hundreds of times but have never read the book. *Hangs head in shame*
Sam: WHAT??? I don’t think we can be friends anymore.
Jo: But, Boo!!! What if I told you I was re-reading The Borders War series and I would so totally watch that movie? OMG the moment Merq… Oh wait, I better not give that part away. Come to think of it, I can’t believe you did that to Armise. You’re right, we can’t be friends anymore!
You are much too evil for me.
Sam: I was about to say that flattery would get you beer and breakfast burgers, but noooooppppeeee. Too late! I’d love to see the Borders War on the big screen. Are you kidding me? That is a writer’s dream come true.
Jo: I think you should totally pitch it! And I don’t want no fricken beer after what you did to Armise. I want straight up hard core shots and a gallon of Cookie dough ice cream.
Sam: Done. Just keep those spoilers zipped up for another two weeks
Jo: Okay, bribe me baby ;) Sooooo what were we talking about?
Sam: Books to movies, Jo! Concentrate. *sigh*
Jo: Sorry, you carry on. You distracted me with booze and ice cream.
Sam: Now I want ice cream too. Anyway, I would drain my savings to see Luke Evans play Merq Grayson from my Borders War series. What about you? Are there any of your characters from your books you already have cast?
Jo: Way to put me on the spot. Ummmm….Oh wait!!! Yes. ROPED!!! Charlie Hunnam would totally be Tek and Ryan Hurst as Jamie!
Sam: Perfection! Now you tell us. What actors/actresses would you love to see in movies made from your favorite books? Or is there a book series you specifically don’t want Hollywood to get anywhere near? Comment below to win one backlist ebook from both Jo and me!

Meet Jo Peterson
SJD Peterson, better known as Jo, hails from Michigan. Not the best place to live for someone who hates the cold and snow. When not reading or writing, Jo can be found close to the heater checking out NHL stats and watching the Red Wings kick a little butt. Can't cook, misses the clothes hamper nine out of ten tries, but is handy with power tools.
